Erasmuswoche am Werkschulheim vom 13.11. – 19.11.2022

Ende November war das Werkschulheim der Gastgeber für das erste gemeinsame Treffen im Rahmen des neuen Erasmusprojekts ECO not EGO. Unsere beiden Partnerschulen aus Dänemark und Ungarn reisten bereits am Sonntag nach Salzburg und wurden von uns am Flughafen und Bahnhof willkommen geheißen, bevor es weiter zur Unterkunft ging. Dankenswerterweise hat sich Max Obermayr vom Gasthaus Obermayr bereit erklärt unsere Gäste bei sich im Hotel zu beherbergen und hat uns dadurch bei der Organisation der Erasmus-Woche einen großen Brocken abgenommen.

Die Woche war gefüllt mit verschiedensten Aktivitäten, Ausflügen und Workshops rund um das Thema der Nachhaltigkeit. Nach einem gemeinsamen Kennenlernen und sportlichen Aktivitäten am Montag, ging es am Dienstag gleich mit dem Präsentieren der Ergebnisse aus den einzelnen Exkursionen und Workshops los, die im Vorfeld der Konferenzwoche stattgefunden hatten. Und somit war der Vormittag gefüllt mit einem regen Austausch zu den Themen Wasser, Essen und Umwelt.

Damit unsere Gäste unsere Region besser kennenlernen, durften Ausflüge nicht fehlen. So ging es nicht nur nach Salzburg, um die Stadt selbst zu erkunden, sondern auch nach Berchtesgaden im benachbarten Bayern. Dort wurde nach einer Bootsfahrt auf dem Königsee auch das dortige Salzbergwerk besucht. Für unsere Gäste aus Ungarn und Dänemark war das ein einmaliges Erlebnis und die Begeisterung für den alpinen Raum war spürbar.

Der Donnerstag stand wieder im Zeichen der Projektarbeit und so arbeiteten alle drei Schulen in drei kleinen Teams an verschiedenen Workshops mit. Zum einen wurde das Thema der Wälder und Bäume im und um das Werkschulheim genauer beleuchtet. Mit der Unterstützung von Bürgermeister Johannes Fürstaller wurde ein neues Baum-Projekt in der Gemeinde Ebenau gestartet bei dem die Schüler verschiedene Bäume auf dem Gemeindegebiet pflanzen durften. Ein anderer Workshop war dem Thema Wasser gewidmet und beschäftigte sich nicht nur mit der Analyse der Wasserqualität am Werkschulheim, sondern auch mit der Wasserenergie am Wiestalstausee. Hierzu wurden einerseits Wasserproben im Biologielabor untersucht und andererseits Minimodelle einer „Francis-Turbine“ im Physiklabor konstruiert und zusammengebaut, bevor deren Leistung gemessen wurde. Der dritte Workshop befasste sich mit dem Thema Essen und bereitet nationale Gerichte mit regionalen Zutaten zu, sodass nach getaner Arbeit ein großes dänisch-österreichisch-ungarisches Büffet zustande kam. Die Schüler stellten einander die nationalen Speisen und Zutaten wie z.B. Gulasch vor und konnten sich an Kostproben erfreuen.

Der letzte Tag der Erasmuswoche war dem Salzkammergut gewidmet. Mit dem Besuch auf dem Christkindlmarkt in St. Wolfgang und der anschließenden Bootsfahrt von St. Wolfgang nach St. Gilgen wurde ein schöner Ausklang der Woche gefunden. Der Höhepunkt und somit auch der offizielle Abschluss war das gemeinsame Abendessen beim Dorfwirt in Ebenau. Hier konnten die Schüler die allseits bekannten Schnitzel essen, während ausgiebig gelacht und über die vergangene Woche diskutiert wurde. Nach dem Überreichen der Teilnahme-Urkunden ging es für die Ungarn bereits am selben Abend mit dem Flixbus zurück nach Budapest. Die Dänen konnten noch ein letztes gemeinsames Frühstück am Werkschulheim genießen, bevor auch sie wieder die Heimreise nach Aalborg antraten.

 

At the end of November, the Werkschulheim was the host for the first joint meeting in the framework of the new Erasmus project ECO not EGO. Our two partner schools from Denmark and Hungary already traveled to Salzburg on Sunday and were welcomed by us at the airport and train station before continuing to the accommodation. Thankfully, Max Obermayr from the Gasthaus Obermayr agreed to accommodate our guests in his hotel and thus took a big chunk out of the organization of the Erasmus week.

The week was filled with various activities, excursions, and workshops around the topic of sustainability. After getting to know each other and some sports activities on Monday, we started on Tuesday with the presentation of the results from the individual excursions and workshops that had taken place in the run-up to the conference week. And so, the morning was filled with a lively exchange on the topics of water, food, and the environment.

In order for our guests to get to know our region better, excursions were not to be missed. So, they not only went to Salzburg to explore the city itself, but also to Berchtesgaden in neighboring Bavaria. There, after a boat trip on the Lake Königsee, they also visited the local salt mine. This was a unique experience for our guests from Hungary and Denmark, and their enthusiasm for the Alpine region was palpable.

Thursday was again dedicated to project work and so all three schools worked in three small teams on different workshops. On the one hand, the topic of forests and trees in and around the Werkschulheim was examined in more detail. With the support of Mayor Johannes Fürstaller, a new tree project was started in the community of Ebenau, where the students were allowed to plant various trees in the community area. Another workshop was dedicated to the topic of water and dealt not only with the analysis of the water quality at the Werkschulheim, but also with the hydro energy at the Lake Wiestalstausee. For this purpose, on the one hand water samples were examined in the biology laboratory and on the other hand small models of a "Francis turbine" were constructed and assembled in the physics laboratory before their output was measured. The third workshop dealt with the topic of food and prepared national dishes with regional ingredients, so that after the work was done, a large Danish-Austrian-Hungarian buffet was created. The students introduced each other to the national dishes and ingredients, such as goulash, and enjoyed tastings.

The last day of the Erasmus week was dedicated to the Salzkammergut. The visit to the Christmas market in St. Wolfgang and the subsequent boat trip from St. Wolfgang to St. Gilgen was a nice ending of the week. The highlight and thus also the official conclusion was the joint dinner at the Dorfwirt in Ebenau. Here the students could eat the well-known Schnitzel, while they laughed and talked about the past week. After the presentation of the participation certificates, the Hungarians returned to Budapest on the same night by Flixbus. The Danes were able to enjoy a last breakfast together with us at the Werkschulheim before they also started their journey home to Aalborg.
